Chrysler Financial and Chrysler Group Support Pilsen Neighbors Community Council through Fiesta del Sol and their College Scholarship Program Saturday, July 29 in Chicago, Ill.

WHAT: Chrysler Financial and Chrysler Group are partnering with the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council to support Fiesta del Sol -- the 34th Annual Festival and the largest Latino community festival of its kind in Chicago's Midwest. This festival draws more than one million people to the Pilsen neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago every year.

The Pilsen Neighbors Community Council was formed in 1954 as neighbors gathered together to discuss their most pressing needs. An influx of Mexican immigrants brought many changes and challenges to the area, including a need to establish a local high school. After struggling for five years, the Benito Juarez High School was opened, in large part because of the community-wide effort. To recognize their success, the neighbors decided to have a victory celebration, thus Fiesta del Sol was born.
