Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship enters second half of season this 
weekend

TORONTO, ONTARIO – This weekend, at the Mosport Academy track, the Sunoco 
Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels will kick 
off the second half of the 2006 season. If the first half of the season is 
any indication, all 11 classes should go down to the final round before any 
champions have been crowned.
Mosport always produces good races, and fans can see a large part of the 
track from any vantage point, and Mosport always have some surprise 
winners. Many of the drivers in the championship hunt now pay a lot closer 
attention to where they are in the points – positioning themselves for a 
championship run.

In the headline Formula Senior Class, Curtis Fox (267 points) enjoys a slim 
lead over Sunoco Team Ultra 94 driver Kyle Marcelli (250 points). Third is 
the ‘Barrie King’ Michael Vincec with 242 points. These three are set to 
battle it out this weekend at Mosport.
Other class leaders include; Eric Gerrits in RotaxMax Sr. Michael Vincec in 
F1-K Senior, Chris Holman in World Formula Sr., Pearce Herder in Canada 
Senior, Dylan Gibson in Rotax Jr., David Ostella in F1-K Jr., Joshua 
Korenyi in World Formula Jr., Kevin Monteith in Canada Jr. Heavy, Ryan 
Klutt in Canada Junior Lite, and Anthony Furfari in F1-K Cadet.

Practice is all day on Friday for all classes, with qualifying and racing 
for Rotax Max Senior, Canada Junior Heavy, F1-K Cadet, World Formula 
Junior, Canada Senior and F1-K Junior on Saturday July 29. Sunday’s classes 
are; Formula Senior, Canada Junior Light, F1-K Senior, Rotax Max Jr., and 
World Formula Senior.

kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct 
and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the 
safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the 
racing ladder to automobile racing.
