WIX Filters Donates More Than $50,000 to FFA Through Popular Box Top
Program

 

GASTONIA, N.C. (July 26, 2006) - As part of the brand's long-standing
support of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), WIX Filters recently
presented over $50,000 to the FFA through the WIX Filters/FFA box top
program. 

            For 19 years, WIX Filters has sponsored the box top program
benefiting FFA chapters throughout the country. Participating chapters
encourage businesses and individuals in their communities to use WIX
oil, air and fuel filters and turn in box tops, which the chapters
redeem for a 25-cent per box top contribution from WIX. FFA members
redeemed a total of 186,293 WIX Filters box tops as part of the 2006
program. 

This year, the WIX Filters/FFA box top program provided a total of
$52,573.25 to local FFA chapters, including six $1,000 bonus awards for
chapters meeting the following criteria:  most overall box tops redeemed
during the program period; highest percentage increase in box top
redemption from 2005 to 2006; and top four chapters based on number of
box tops redeemed per member.

            The Genessee FFA chapter, from Genessee, Idaho, took home
top honors in the 2006 WIX Filters/FFA box top program, earning bonuses
for the most box tops redeemed (11,272) and the highest percentage
increase from 2005 to 2006 (775.16 percent). Genesee FFA also led the
top four chapters in per-member box top redemptions (230.04 per member)
followed closely by Mexia FFA of Mexia, Texas (223.5 per member),
Bennett County FFA of Martin, S.D. (218.29 per member) and Osceola FFA
of Osceola, Fla. (127.72 per member).
