Plenty of Fan Fun Set for Chevy Day at the Brickyard Aug. 4

Driver autograph sessions, interviews highlight Allstate 400 at the Brickyard event

INDIANAPOLIS – The 13 th annual Allstate 400 at the Brickyard will open with a variety of exciting, fan-friendly activities, including NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver autograph sessions, with Chevy Day at the Brickyard on Friday, Aug. 4.

The Chevrolet-sponsored event is taking place from 8 a.m.-noon (ET) at various infield locations at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Admission to the Chevy event is included in the price of admission to the IMS grounds for the day’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard activities. General admission tickets for the day are $10 per person, free for children ages 5 and younger.

Highlights of Chevy Day at the Brickyard will include appearances by Chevrolet-sponsored NASCAR drivers in question-and-answer sessions with Riki Rachtman, the former host of MTV’s “Headbangers Ball,” on the Chevy Stage in the Hall of Fame Museum parking lot, and autograph sessions with Chevy drivers and team owners in the Pagoda Plaza.

The autograph schedule (subject to change):

9 a.m.: Jeff Burton, Richard Childress, J.J. Yeley 10 a.m.: Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Brian Vickers 11 a.m.: Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick Due to time constraints, all fans must have a wristband to get their favorite drivers’ autographs. Wristband distribution begins at 8 a.m. in the Pagoda Plaza to the first 300 people in line, ages 18 and older, with up to two children per adult. A separate wristband is required for each of the three autograph sessions.

Selected Chevrolet NASCAR drivers also will participate in the RC Driver RC Challenge at the Brickyard race with radio-controlled cars in the Flag Lot, adjacent to the Pagoda Plaza .

Other activities on Chevy Day at the Brickyard include photo opportunities with the No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., the No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet driven by reigning Allstate 400 at the Brickyard winner Tony Stewart and the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet driven by Johnson, displays of Chevy passenger cars and trucks, live music by the Jolie Holliday Band and more. All of these activities are part of the Chevy Fanfest in the Hall of Fame Museum lot.

A limited number of fans age 18 and older that complete a Chevy Test Drive of a 2005, 2006 or 2007 vehicle at a participating central Indiana Chevy dealer will be eligible for a “Hot Lap” with a Chevy NASCAR driver on the legendary 2.5-mile IMS oval.

Test drives must be completed by Thursday, Aug. 3 and are available in limited quantities. Each voucher for a completed Chevy Test Drive is good for one “Hot Lap” and two admission tickets to the Speedway grounds for Friday’s activities.

Practice sessions for the 13 th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Aug. 4 are from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. Public gates open at 8 a.m.

Tickets: Tickets are on sale for the 2006 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Fans can order tickets online at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com, by calling the IMS ticket office at (317) 492-6700 or (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area, or at the ticket office at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Parking and camping information also can be obtained through the ticket office.
