Pep Boys Unveils Eighteen Newly-Remodeled Stores

A significant milestone in the company's 85-year legacy, the Grand Re-Openings celebrate stores that focus sharply on providing customers with a wide range of basic automotive parts and accessories and name-brand tires for one's shopping list. In addition, each store has been extensively re-merchandised and stocked with new products ranging from power tools and generators to the latest in mobile entertainment and the most modern automotive repair equipment. A contemporary interior design, which reflects the new red, white and blue Pep Boys corporate colors, includes multimedia displays, dynamic signage and customized areas for new product categories. The store facades and exterior signs have also been updated.
"All of our Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach area stores now feature a more exciting, customer-friendly layout on both the retail and service sides of our business," noted Pep Boys Chairman and CEO William Leonard. "The refurbished stores have prominent product displays that leverage our massive retail space, maximize sales per square foot, and create a permanent space for newer product categories, such as garage. Customer response to the refurbishments has been very positive in other markets, and we look forward to continued customer satisfaction."
The new look has appealed to customers in other key markets such as Jacksonville, Orlando and Daytona Beach, FL; Los Angeles and San Diego, CA; Philadelphia and Harrisburg, PA; Chicago, IL; Phoenix and Tucson, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; greater New York and Denver, CO.
As part of the Grand Re-Openings, Pep Boys stores will run a special 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. sale on July 27, as well as a celebratory 10-day sale through August 5. The first 100 customers to visit one of the 18 Grand Re-Opened Pep Boys locations on July 27 will receive a FREE $10 Pep Boys Shopping Card. Special service promotions that day include 50% off any tires for the first 10 customers to purchase any installed passenger or light truck tires; and a $4.99 Pennzoil standard oil change for the first 10 customers to sign a work order for an oil change.
