WESTERN STATES SUPERMODIFIED RACING LEAGUE TO FINISH 2006 SEASON WITH ASA
AFFILIATION AND NATIONAL TV

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 25, 2006) - Big news is coming from the Western
States Supermodified Racing League (WSSRL) as they announce both a new
association with the American Speed Association's (ASA) racing program and a
five race television package on the Outdoor Life Network.

The WSSRL began an 11-race season on Saturday, May 6 at Madera (Calif.)
Speedway with the running of the annual "Vukovich Classic," a memorial race
for Billy Vukovich III. Other tracks on the campaign include ASA Member
Tracks Meridian (Idaho) Speedway, and Orange Show Speedway in San
Bernardino, Calif. Additionally, the series makes visits to Rocky Mountain
Speedway (Salt Lake City, Utah), Altamont (Calif.) Speedway and Shasta
Raceway Park in Anderson, Calif.

With more than 60 active members and 35 different teams, the ASA/WSSRL is
one of the most anticipated shows of the season when they roll into town due
to the unique styling of the race cars, the incredible speeds, and the
reckless nature of the drivers.

"Our race teams are a bit like outlaws," claimed WSSRL president/owner Rick
Cameron. "This is old school, bare knuckles hard racing. Extreme racing with
an attitude - that's Supermodifieds!"

"These guys are a bit like Jesse James rolled up into Mario Andretti,"
Cameron added.

Supermodifieds are quite possibly the most exciting form of open wheel
racing. With over 800 horsepower strapped to a light, nimble 1900 pound car,
these vehicles can accelerate from 20 to more than 100 mph in just over
three seconds. But even more impressive is the cornering speeds which are
only slightly less than that on the straights due to the unbelievable
downforce the top wing generates.

"Our drivers run flat-footed around some of the tracks. We are the fastest
cars in the world on half-mile or less tracks. No other car is faster," said
Cameron. To further emphasize the speed of the ASA/WSSRL vehicles, Cameron
said that when they competed at Phoenix International Raceway, the top
qualifiers would have made the grid for the Indy Racing League's event on
the same track; these are the same cars that compete in the Indianapolis 500
at speeds well above 220 mph.

Because of this "edge of your seat" action, a television package was a
natural fit to showcase the unique nature of the ASA/WSSRL vehicles and
drivers. A deal was put together for a five race program in conjunction with
the ASA Speed Truck Challenge, another ASA Regional Racing tour. The
programming was brokered by Jay Rutherford, president of the ASA Speed Truck
Challenge who indicated that another major announcement may be forthcoming
shortly concerning the ASA/WSSRL.

Fans looking for more information on the ASA/WSSRL race cars, event and
television schedule, and other information can visit www.wssrl.com, or
telephone (559) 803-3194 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (PT) on Tuesday through
Friday.

"The ASA Western States Supermodified Racing League is unquestionably one of
the most exciting regional touring series in the country," said Dennis Huth,
president of ASA Racing. "The drivers are fanatical to do what they do and
the fans just eat up every single lap and go back and tell their friends
what they missed. These races are one of those things in life that you
really have to see to believe, and I think that the Outdoor Life Network
broadcasts will really give them a boost in popularity and exposure and let
the rest of the country see what we already know is some of the best
motorsports action around.

"The ASA racing program is pleased to welcome them to the fold and look
forward to many years of a great racing partnership. They bring to us the
type of thrilling racing that ASA has been known for over the years, and we
certainly are excited to do all we can to help move their program upwards,"
Huth added.

"One of my goals has always been to get these drivers and the series more
exposure," said Cameron. "The benefits of partnering with a national
organization helps bring us a great insurance package, national recognition,
exposure and increased credibility. The ASA Racing program is the fastest
growing short track organization in the USA, and they offer a lot of
advantages to us. I also want to extend my thanks to the ASA Speed Truck
racers and Jay Rutherford for including the Supermodifieds into their
television programs."
