The evening would start off on a very positive note with the 5th quickest time and a 5th place starting position in the 2nd heat where he would finish 4th. The rookie would start on the outside of the front row for the dash and take the lead from the start. He would lead until the eventual race winner Donny Schatz would over take him with 1 lap left to take the win. Starting 2nd in the feature, Martin would get a great start and jump into the lead by 7 car lengths when he would shoot to hard into turns 3-4. On a very slick race track the NOS Enery Drink/Mafia Motorsports Maxim would spin and bring out the yellow. Martin would start 24th on the restart. Using the low side of the race track the rookie would climb to as high as 13th and settle for a 14th place finish. Not the finish one would hope for after starting 2nd but after the struggles of the past few weeks one the team will look to build on.
"It was my own fault." Said Martin. "I let Schatz get in my head. He is the man to beat each and every time we go out on the track and instead of just making this another race I just ran it in there too hard. We really showed what we are capable of tonight and I just made a mistake and did not get the finish this team deserved. We have the components in place to be there night in and night out the motors are strong and we have learned quite a bit over the last few weeks now it's up to me to bring us home the finishes this team deserves."
