Johnson Controls Announces New Power Solutions and Interior Experience Leadership Appointments

MILWAUKEE, July 19 -- Johnson Controls Inc. today announced new roles for some of its business leaders.

Ron Weller, 49, currently vice president and general manager of the company's power solutions business in North America, has been appointed to the new position of vice president, global operations for that business. In his new assignment, he will be responsible for optimizing Johnson Controls' global automotive battery operations, including capacity planning, purchasing, quality and engineering. Mr. Weller joined the company in 1989 and has held prior assignments in finance, plant management and operations management.

Brian Kesseler, 39, currently vice president and general manager for the interior experience business in North America, will assume Mr. Weller's prior responsibilities as vice president and general manager, North America for the power solutions business. Mr. Kesseler joined Johnson Controls in 1994 and also held key leadership roles in automotive sales and operations.

Messrs. Weller and Kesseler both will report to Gregg Sherrill, group vice president and general manager of the power solutions business.

Jeff Williams, 45, was appointed group vice president and general manager of Johnson Controls' interior experience business in North America. Mr. Williams currently serves as group vice president, manufacturing and product planning in that business. He joined the company in 1984 and held various automotive operations and customer business unit leadership roles in the Americas and Europe.

Mr. Williams will report to Keith Wandell, executive vice president and president of the company's Automotive Group.

The executives' new assignments are effective August 1, 2006.
