BURT FOURTH STRAIGHT CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUS WINNER; HICKORY UP SATURDAY

INDIANAPOLIS – Could the times be changing in USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford
Focus Midget Car Series competition?

Series competitors will see if a fifth different driver can find Victory
Lane in the last five races this Saturday when cars and drivers return to
Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina for a scheduled 35-lapper.

The latest winner on the circuit is Mark Burt of DeBary, Fla., who Saturday
captured the 35-lap race at Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia. Burt was one of
three leaders on the race, but his pass of two-time defending series
champion Chase Scott on Lap 8 was the most important of the evening, as it
gave Burt the lead for the remaining 27 laps.

Bradley Riethmeyer and Scott, who teamed to win the first six races of the
season, finished second and third respectively, ahead of Michael Sboro and
Sean Carman.

Burt was the latest in a series of different victors. Scott, Riethmeyer, and
Mike Ward have also won in the past four features. However, Scott is the
only driver to win at Hickory this season. Three of his four victories have
come at the .363-mile oval.
