New Toyota Sales Chief Expects Changes

Washington DC July 17, 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported that despite the fact that Toyota continues to out perform other automakers, Jim Lentz, the new Executive VP of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., still has plenty to worry about, reported Automotive News.

Toyota's rapid growth has placed strain on dealers' ability to provide customer service and even though Toyota has posted significant sales of its hybrid autos, it still has gas-guzzling vehicles in its fleet.

Toyota is also hoping that its upcoming Tundra full-sized pickup can more than double its volume by stealing sales from traditional Big 3 consumers. "We understand our current dealers and boomer customers.

But as we look at a new generation of buyers, dealers and employees, a lot of things are going to change," Lentz says.

With 28 years of experience at Toyota and the successful launch of the Scion brand, Lentz believes that the lessons he learned will be essential in helping him guide Toyota into the future.
