Line King of the Mountain at Bandimere Speedway

MORRISON, Colo. (July 15, 2006) - Jason Line, driver of the KB Racing
LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pro Stock Pontiac GTO,
conquered the 100 degree heat plus and the mountain known as Bandimere
Speedway as he qualified No. 1 at this weekend's NHRA Mopar Mile-High
Nationals. For Line it was the seventh No. 1 qualifying position of his
career.

Locked in a tight point battle for the top spot in Pro Stock with his
teammate, three-time and defending NHRA POWERade champion Greg Anderson,
Line recorded a best elapsed time in his four qualifying runs of 7.062
seconds at 195.65 mph, which are Bandimere Speedway elapsed time and
speed records.

"We knew going into today that if we were going to make a move we had to
do it in the morning session, "said Line, following qualifying. "This
afternoon it was just too hot and we had some engine problems but we'll
be ready for tomorrow."

After his blast of 7.062 seconds on Saturday morning, a run that
surprised the entire Pro Stock establishment, Line had the following
thoughts: "I'll have to admit it was one heck of a run. I don't think
anyone thought something like that was possible this morning, including
myself, and I'm an eternal optimist. It was really a stout run and it
was fun to be the guy driving the car.

"It really felt good. I got down to the end of the track and Dave
Connolly was standing in front of my car shaking his head, and then he
told me what I had run. I was surprised as he was. I thought a good
pass for that session would have been a 7.09, but not a 7.06."

Coming into this event, Line was two points behind Anderson, but with
his nailing down the top spot and Anderson qualifying fifth, Line picked
up four net points on his teammate and heads to Sunday's eliminations
rounds two points in front of his teammate.

Line goes after his third win of the 2006 season when he faces Mike
Thomas, who qualified No. 16, in tomorrow's opening round of
eliminations. Previous wins this season have come at Bristol, Tenn. and
Englishtown, N.J. For his career, he has 10 wins in 17 final rounds.

Line, a native of Minnesota now living in Terrell, North Carolina,
begins his quest for the Mopar Mile-High Nationals Pro Stock title on
Sunday, July 16, with eliminations for all classes beginning at 12
noon. Time is local Denver time (MT) and subject to change at anytime.
