Long ready to race in Louden
Eddyville, Ky. – Carl Long will be making his fifth career start at New Hampshire International Speedway on Saturday. Long has raced the one-mile oval twice on the Nextel Cup Series and once each on the Busch and Craftsman Truck Series.
“I love racing here,” said Long. “The fans are great and it is a fun track to drive.”
With only 43 cars in the field, Long said the team was taking a different approach this week.
“We usually have to be really aggressive in our qualifying package,” he explained. “That puts us at a disadvantage in the race because the cars that are locked in can concentrate on their race set-ups. This week we set the car up to race so we shouldn’t have to make near as many adjustments on the fly after the race starts.”
Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and will be televised on Speed. The race will follow at 3:00 p.m. and will air on TNT. All times are Eastern.
