JANCA LOOKING TO TAKE CALIFORNIA DIRT POINT LEAD SATURDAY

INDIANAPOLIS – Bobby Michnowicz has been the point leader in USAC California
Ford Focus Dirt Midget Car Series action for most of the 2006 season. But
Keith Janca would like for that to change soon.

Janca looks to take the point lead for the first time Saturday, as the
series continues action, this time at Ventura Raceway in California. Janca
is only eight points behind Michnowicz as the second half of the season gets
underway.

A native of Ontario, Calif. Janca has one victory in series competition to
Michnowicz’s two, but has been steadily more consistent over the past three
races. Both drivers are looking for their initial USAC championships.

But they can’t afford to let up at this point, as Chris Veach is closing on
both drivers. His 355 points are only 20 less than Michnowicz, though he is
still looking for his first victory of the season in the Dirt division. His
brother, Cameron, has three feature victories, all at Ventura.

Six of the eight California Dirt Focus races this season have been held at
Ventura.
