NASHVILLE, Tenn.--July 10, 2006--Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced that Scott E. Becker has been named vice president, legal and general counsel. He succeeds Joy Murakami Crose, who has decided to leave the company effective July 31, 2006.

In his new position, effective July 8, Becker will manage the legal affairs of Nissan affiliates throughout the United States and will supervise the company's Legal Department. Prior to his appointment at Nissan, Becker was vice president and deputy general counsel for retail operations, real estate and services for Sears Holdings Corp., and Sears, Roebuck and Co. Becker joined Sears in 2000 after working for several Chicago law firms, and held several litigation positions in the corporation's legal department.

Crose joined the corporation in 1992 and held several positions in the legal services operations of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp., the automaker's captive finance company. Crose was named assistant general counsel of NNA when the two companies' legal departments merged and was appointed to her current position in 2000.

"During her years at Nissan and NMAC, Joy has provided outstanding leadership and support of our business efforts through extremely challenging times," said Dominique Thormann, senior vice president, administration and finance, NNA. "We wish her well in all of her future endeavors."
