FLETCHER ENGINEERS LATE RACE PASS TO CLAIM SECOND OSCARR VICTORY OF 2006

Innisfil, On; John Fletcher lead for only 12 laps enroute to Team JNE Consulting #61 second OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Model Feature July 8th at Sunset Speedway, in an evening that saw a capacity crowd, superb weather and some wild multi car accidents. The team also battled to find the handle on the #61 outlaw struggled for speed in practice and qualifying races finishing with a win in one and a sixth place in the other John was not satisfied. "We are junk tonight boys" John radio transmission after the second qualifying race. After a brief team meeting between crew chief Scott Fletcher and John the team went to work to completely change everything on the car. "We decided quickly to change all four shocks and springs, pan hard bar and sway bar" Scott commented before the 50-lap feature event.

The Team JNE Consulting lined up on the grid behind The Kerr Cadillac Outlaw of Mosport winner Shane Maginnis in the third spot. The pair quickly took off and ran first and second with the 03 of Maginnis opening up a lead of eight car lengths and John holding off the 67 and fellow Wix Filters supported team of ASA Alloys Phil Bullen from the seventh starting spot. A caution flew on lap seven and John communicated that "The car was better and was starting to come around" after a quick drink of some HYPE Energy on the caution the trio set a pace that were lapping cars within laps, by this time John had maintained the pace of the 03 and opened up a gap on Bullen. The third and final caution for the evening fell on lap 23 for a multi car pile up. More HYPE and the handling to John's liking th3 61 of Fletcher started to put the pressure on Maginnis looking under the 03 several time as the two had even split lapped traffic several time during this heated battle for the top spot. Finally John got his nose under Maginnis in turn 4 and the Kerr Cadillac Driver succumbed to Fletcher's challenge. The Team JNE Consulting #61 quickly opened up a ten-car length lead while lapping cars, which included the London Mechanical LBM Leasing Rob Clarke who came home in the seventh position. Fletcher came home victor with Bullen, Maginnis, Bruce Gowland and Al Shepstone rounding out the top five. An excited Fletcher climbed out of his Outlaw with a smile "We worked for this all night and it looks like a good point's night". The team has now opened up a seventy one-point spread over Clarke.

Special Thank goes out to Glen Lloyd of Sunset Speedway and his team for the great upgrades to the speedway and the promotion of the event.
