The Renault F1 Team Speeds Ahead with Lombardi's TeamWorks Software; Reigning Formula One Champion Team to Use Lombardi for R26 Race Car Project
AUSTIN, Texas & ENSTONE, U.K.--July 10, 2006--Lombardi(R), the leader in Business Process Management (BPM) software for Global 2000 companies, and the Renault F1 Team, today announced that the company is deploying the award-winning TeamWorks(R) BPM platform to support the company's mission-critical "event fault management" processes for its R26 2006 race car project. The Renault F1 Team is utilizing TeamWorks to manage the process known as "Event Faults," which provides faults management for the R26 car. The "Event Faults" process is mission critical, as it supports the car reliability objectives for any event and covers any issue related to the car in terms of general operations, performance testing, shake-down, or even problems during a race itself. The Renault F1 Team will also incorporate TeamWorks to assist with the fault management process in its chassis factory as well.
"The Event Faults process is critical to the continued success of the Renault F1 Team and the R26," said Arnaud Boulanger, Head of Process Engineering at the team's headquarters in Enstone, U.K. "In most cases, faults need to be prioritized and fixed by engineering before the next 'event' and certainly before race time, and Lombardi's software enables us to do it as efficiently as possible."
"Managing and solving problems in real-time at the circuit is one of the keys to success in Formula 1," explained the team's Technical Director, Bob Bell. "Whether a problem occurs during track testing or at a Grand Prix, it could ultimately prevent us from finishing a race -- and therefore needs to be solved quickly and effectively. The ability to solve problems faster and more efficiently allows us to focus more of our resources on performance development and staying ahead of the competition. That can make the difference between winning and losing world championships."
"We are proud to be such an integral part of the future success of The Renault F1 Team," said Greg Pope, Vice President of European Operations at Lombardi. "Formula 1 represents the ultimate continuous process improvement environment. Process-driven companies like the Renault F1 Team can never be satisfied with the status quo. Their deployment of our technology is the ultimate validation of Lombardi's value proposition."

About The Renault F1 Team
The Renault F1 Team was born in 2002 with a singular purpose: winning the FIA Formula One World Championship with a 100% Renault car. Drawing on a heritage of motor sport innovation that stretches back to Renault's first Formula 1 race in 1977, and includes six world constructors' championships during the 1990s when Renault supplied V10 engines to front-running F1 competitors, the team has steadily grown in competitiveness since 2002 thanks to a blend of performance, reliability and technology reinforced by the engineering expertise of the Renault Group. The 2005 campaign, spearheaded by Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella, represented the pinnacle of Renault's F1 achievements so far: Alonso became the youngest world champion in F1 history, while the team took a dramatic win in the constructors' championship at the final race of the year. Guided by Team President Alain Dassas and Managing Director Flavio Briatore, the team has begun the 2006 season in similar fashion, taking six wins from the first eight races, and currently leads both championships.
