Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship drivers offer special salute to
Sunoco at Molson Grand Prix of Toronto
Drivers take a chance to salute sponsor as part of demonstration

TORONTO, ONTARIO – The Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by
Toronto Star Wheels made history on Friday afternoon, when they took to the
track of the Molson Grand Prix of Toronto. On Sunday, the second of two
‘demonstration’ periods took place, but the drivers had a special salute in
store for the series sponsor, Sunoco.

On the final lap of the demonstration, the drivers all stopped in turn 1
and got out of there karts to applaud those in the Sunoco suite, which was
located on the outside of turn 1.

The drivers all had signed a big Sunoco flag, and it was launched up to the
suite to show their appreciation for Sunoco’s support of the Sunoco Ron
Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels.

“We wanted to give something back,” said Pearce Herder. “Look around, we
are here because of Sunoco, here at the Grand Prix. Between Sunoco, Ron
Fellows and ASN Canada, karters have more chances than ever to move up to
cars, so we wanted – as a group – to give something back.”

The drivers taking part in the demonstration ranged from Cadets to Seniors.
Taking part were Darryl Timmers, Pearce Herder, Lloyd Shearer and his son
Zach Shearer, Anthony Furfari and his brother Michael, Corey Luciano,
Joshua Korenyi, Michael Adams, Philip Wang, Jim Souch, Jesse Facchini,
Dylan Gibson, Reid Arnold, Darren White, Matt and Jason France.

The objective of the SRFKC is to help foster a professional environment for
kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct
and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the
safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the
racing ladder to automobile racing.
