Dr. Bulent Yavuz Appointed Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nanostellar, Inc.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 6 -- Nanostellar, Inc., an application-specific nano-materials company that develops highly efficient materials for automotive catalysts, today announced the appointment of Dr. Bulent Yavuz as its Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The company's solutions, which are based on a proprietary rational design technology, have shown superior performance at lower precious metal content than currently available materials.

"We are very pleased with Bulent's decision to join Nanostellar as we begin the business development phase for our diesel emissions catalyst materials," said Pankaj Dhingra, President and CEO of Nanostellar, "and feel his skills will help us expand our reach in the emissions control market, especially now that our manufacturing facility will be in operation by the end of July."

"I am excited to be part of Nanostellar, and join the nano-technology revolution in materials," said Dr. Yavuz. "We have a strong team and leadership, outstanding technology, and world class expertise. In addition, the industry has been increasingly recognizing Nanostellar for its technology and creativity in new ways of designing and manufacturing high value added nano-scale materials."

Dr. Bulent Yavuz joins Nanostellar after spending 19 years with the Engelhard Corporation. Bulent has led teams in developing more than $100 million annual business in heavy-duty, motorcycles, small engines, and ozone emissions control. Bulent has a Ph.D. in materials science from Penn State, and is a Fulbright scholar with nine US patents in the field of diesel oxidation catalysts and ceramics.

"Bulent Yavuz will be a tremendous asset to Nanostellar," said William F. Miller, Chairman and Founder of Nanostellar. "With his experience in building high-performing teams and his passion for customer support, he has all the attributes necessary to help us build a premier customer-focused organization."

Nanostellar has 40 man-years of computational experience in Rational Design and synthesis, designing and manufacturing various nano-alloys with predictable properties for diesel oxidation catalysis. The company plans to broaden the scope of their activities to include work on clean energy technologies such as catalyst materials for fuel cells and Gas-To-Liquid/Coal- To-Liquid applications, and energy efficiency technologies in the field of display materials such as transparent conductors, phosphors and color filters, etc.

About Nanostellar

Founded in 2003 with scientists from Stanford University and NASA Ames, Nanostellar, Inc., is a Redwood City, CA-based Application Specific Nano-Materials company that uses quantum mechanics principles and sophisticated simulation technology to design and manufacture nano-alloys and materials. This process dramatically reduces the material design cycle time as most of it is accomplished computationally. Nanostellar technology transforms the conventional "make and test" model of material design to "design, selectively make and verify." Nanostellar is privately held, backed by premier investors including 3i, Monitor Ventures, Firelake Capital Management LLC and AsiaTech Management.
