BUCKWALTER, DUNSTAN AND MURPHY TOP SUPER SHOW

 

Newberrytown, PA (July 3, 2006) - Steve Buckwalter led the final 15 laps of Monday night's ARDC Midget 20-lap main event at Susquehanna Speedway Park, claiming the main event in the inaugural Eichelberger's U-Pull It Super Show.

 

In other action, Ronnie Dunstan won the 20-lap legends car feature race while Ben Murphy won his first 600 cc micro sprint feature at the speedway.

 

"This feels really good to get back in Victory Lane," Buckwalter said.  "It always feels good to win a feature."

 

The win was Buckwalter's second victory of the season at the speedway.  It was his first since taking over an area 410 Sprint Car.

 

"It is a bit different," Buckwalter said.  "It takes you about a lap or two to get adjusted from racing with a wing to running a midget wingless.  Without a wing, the car just wants to slide."

 

Buckwalter passed Michele Miller on lap 5 of the 20-lap main event.  He then withstood several caution periods and defeated Tracy Readinger, Dave Ely, Ray Bull and Andy Martin.

 

Heats for the 27 cars went to Miller, Donnie Trent and Eric Heydenreich.

 

Ronnie Dunstan passed Jason Rochelle late in the race for the victory in the 20-lap legends car feature.  Geremy Sheaffer, Jeff Condran and Pat Zellers completed the top five.

 

Ben Murphy beat his brother Jake in the 20-lap 600 cc micro sprint main.  Dwayne Gutshall, Nathan Hauck and Jimmy Brookens filled the top-five spots.

 

Susquehanna Speedway Park will take a two-week break from action.  As a courtesy to Morgan Hughes and Justin Loh of the Williams Grove Speedway, SSP canceled its July 20 sprint car show featuring Twin 20 main events, but it will feature a program featuring the Xtreme Stock Cars (regular feature and postponed race for June 22), WoO Stocks, Speedway Auto Sales Mini Vans, Great American School Buses, legend cars, a sprint car wheelie contest, one-on-one street car drags and kids money scramble.

 

The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south.
