Crocs To Sponsor Marks In Kentucky
Crocs To Sponsor Marks In Kentucky
SPARTA, Ky (Wednesday, July 5, 2006) - - Justin Marks Racing announced
today that Crocs Inc. a leading company in footwear will sponsor ARCA RE/MAX
Series rookie Justin Marks in the No. 2 Pontiac Grand Prix for this Friday’s WLWT
Channel 5-150 from Kentucky Speedway.
Crocs was formed in July 2002 when three Boulder, Colorado based founders
decided to market an unusual shoe developed and manufactured by Foam Creations,
Inc.
Originally intended as a boating and outdoor shoe because of its
slip-resistant, non-marking sole. By 2003 Crocs had become a bona-fide phenomenon,
universally accepted as an all purpose shoe for comfort and fashion.
From 2003 to 2004 Crocs focused on accommodating our remarkable growth while
maintaining control. They expanded our product line, added warehouses and
shipping programs for speedy assembly and delivery, hired a senior management
team and acquired Foam Creations. Today, Crocs are available all over the
world and on the internet as we continue to significantly expand all aspects of
our business.
Despite their rapid success, they still stand behind to the core values of
Crocs Footwear. They are committed to making a lightweight, comfortable,
slip-resistant, fashionable and functional shoe that can be produced quickly and
at an affordable price to our customers.
“We are happy to have Crocs on board with us this weekend,?? said Marks, who
unofficially eclipsed the fastest time in the open test session from
Kentucky last week. “Crocs are a familiar name to its consumers and we are looking
forward to giving them a good finish.??
In addition to Crocs, Spy Optic will serve as an associate sponsor as Marks
attempts to make his fourth career ARCA start on Friday night.
“I’m glad that Spy Optic is back with us this weekend,?? Marks said. “They
sponsored us in our two races this season, they are back again for another
experience this week. We’re looking forward to giving them another spectacular
finish.??
Marks under the guidance of Shaver Motorsports crew chief and manager Jeff
Buice is one of 56 teams that have filed an entry for the second ARCA event at
Kentucky this season. Marks continued, “I’ve never raced at Kentucky, but
it is a very fast track. I think I adapted to it well last week at the test. I
’m looking forward to good things on Friday for the Crocs Racing Team.??
Following Kentucky, Marks and the No. 2 Shaver Motorsports team will run
four more events on the ARCA schedule at Gateway, Nashville, Chicagoland and
Talladega.
The WLWT Channel 5-150. (150 miles/100 laps) is the tenth of 23 events on
the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The teams will endure a one-day show at
Kentucky. Practice begins Friday, July 7th with a two hour-fifteen minute
(11:45am-2:00pm EST) session planned. Pork pole qualifying is on tap Friday
afternoon (5:00pm EST) with the race set to take the green flag at 9:00pm. The
race will be televised live on SPEED. In addition, _arcaracing.com_
(http://www.arcaracing.com/) will have all the latest news and results from the track.
