Eddyville, Ky. – Carl will be back behind the wheel of the #23 LoveFiFi.com Chevrolet this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.
Long last drove the #23 at Nashville Superspeedway last month. Because of a prior commitment to race in the Nextel Cup Series, Long yielded to a replacement driver, Stan Boyd, at Kentucky Speedway and the team has not attempted the two races since then.
“I’m excited about being back on the track,” said Long. “We’ve taken a few weekends off get everything in order but we will be making regular appearances from now on.”
Long has one career start at Chicagoland Speedway, finishing 37th last year in the Nextel Cup Series race after handling problems forced him into the garage after 148 laps. He will be pulling double duty this weekend, as he attempts to qualify in the #34 in the Nextel Cup Series as well as the #23 LoveFiFi.com Chevrolet in Saturday’s NASCAR Busch Series race.
Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and will be televised on Speed. The race will follow at 4:00 p.m. and will air on TNT. All times are Eastern.
