TC Motorsports; Odell Excited About Kentucky Return

TC Motorsports; Odell Excited About Kentucky Return

SPARTA, Kentucky (July 5, 2006) - - After spending some time competing in
the NASCAR Busch Series, TC Motorsports with driver David Odell return to the
ARCA RE/MAX Series and Kentucky Speedway for the running of this Friday’s WLWT
Channel 5-150.
TC Motorsports has good reason to be looking forward to returning to the
1.5-mile speed plant. Last month, Odell qualified his No. 35 TC Motorsports
Chevrolet 20th but maneuvered his way through the field to capture an eighth
place finish, his third top-ten finish with the team in five starts.
“I always enjoy running at Kentucky,?? explained Odell, a well-known late
model driver for the Lawrenceville, Georgia area. “TC Motorsports always runs
well in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and we’re looking to continue that success
this weekend. Since our last race, we’ve dabbled a little bit in the NASCAR
Busch Series and ran the Nashville event. We did well, but we’re all looking
forward to coming back to ARCA territory.??
“I don’t know what it is about Kentucky, but I like it. It’s a very fast
and smooth track and it just adapted to my racing style. We didn’t qualify well
last month, we were better than our 20th place effort. The goal for the
race was to keep calm and just work our way to the front. We did that. I think
if we would have had some more time we easily could have tapped our second
top-five finish together but we ran out of laps. We’re looking to improve on our
performance and put our TC Motorsports Chevrolet into victory lane.??
When asked if Kentucky is a lot like Nashville Superspeedway, the site of
Odell’s career best finish in the ARCA RE/MAX Series he stated, “No, not
really. There are really two different tracks. However, I enjoy competing at both
of them. I have to drive both tracks differently and the handling of the cars
is much different because of the surface of the facilities. Nonetheless, I’m
looking forward to Kentucky this weekend and Nashville next month.??
TC Motorsports heads into the tenth event on the 2006 schedule without the
security of a primary sponsorship. As race weekend quickly approaches, the
team is still looking for additional funding.
“We have a lot to offer for any potential sponsors,?? said team owner Tammy
Clower. “We have a hardworking crew, a talented driver and top equipment.
Just think of what we would be able to do if we had some additional backing.
This team is capable of leading races and running in the top-ten. We’ve proved
that. We just need some help to continue to make that happen.??
Odell said, “Our racing is minimal because of the high cost of racing. TC
Motorsports has run our races this season out of their own pocket. I appreciate
that. However, it’s our goal to eventually run for the championship in ARCA.
We need a sponsor to do that. Unlike the spring event, the race is televised
and we have to use that to our advantage. Dreams come true if you want them
bad enough. We need a sponsor bad so we can make our dream come true.??
Rolling into Kentucky, Odell a third generation driver has five ARCA RE/MAX
Series starts to his resume with a career best finish of fourth at Nashville
Superspeedway (August 2005) while holding two additional top ten finishes of
sixth and eighth respectively at Salem Speedway (September 2005) and Kentucky
Speedway (June 2006). He also has a career best Superspeedway qualifying
effort of tenth at Nashville Superspeedway (August 2005) followed by a career
best short track time trials effort of sixth at Lanier National Speedway (May
2005).
TC Motorsports is still actively seeking sponsorship for Friday’s WLWT
Channel 5-150. Interested parties are urged to contact the team directly at
678-776-2715 or 770-554-0491.
Following Kentucky, TC Motorsports will return to the track later this
month at Gateway International Raceway competing in both the ARCA and NASCAR
Busch Series events. Further races in the NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA RE/MAX
Series will be announced at a later date.
The WLWT Channel 5-150. (150 miles/100 laps) is the tenth of 23 events on
the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The teams will endure a one-day show at
Kentucky. Practice begins Friday, July 7th with a two hour-fifteen minute
(11:45am-2:00pm EST) session planned. Pork pole qualifying is on tap Friday
afternoon (5:00pm EST) with the race set to take the green flag at 9:00pm. The
race will be televised live on SPEED. In addition, _arcaracing.com_
(http://www.arcaracing.com/) will have all the latest news and results from the track.
