CAROLINA/VIRGINIA POINT BATTLE CONTINUES SATURDAY; WARD WINS ELKIN

COLUMBUS, Ohio – USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series
competitors Chase Scott and Bradley Riethmeyer continue their point lead
battle Saturday at East Carolina Motor Speedway in Robersonville, N.C.

Only 62 points separate the two as the series heads to East Carolina for its
first race there in the division’s three-year history.

Mike Ward, Charlotte, N.C., scored his first career series points-paying
victory in Sunday’s 35-lap feature at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin,
N.C., leading the final 11 laps after passing Bradley Riethmeyer. Scott was
second, ahead of Aron Oakley, Riethmeyer and Mark Burt.
