ARCA RE/MAX Series returns to Kentucky Speedway

SPARTA, Ky (Monday, July 3, 2006) - - The ARCA RE/MAX Series returns to
Kentucky Speedway this weekend with S&H Motorsports planning to arrive as a
serious sleeper for this Friday’s WLWT Channel 5-150.
For the third time this season, S&H Motorsports hood will adorn the _Tim
Horton Children’s Foundation_ (http://www.timhortonchildrensfoundation.com/)
colors.
“We received a lot of good exposure the last time we were here and we’re
looking for more of that this weekend,?? explained Bixman. “With this being a
hometown event for the charity, a good run on Friday would help with some
additional exposure and that’s a piece to our puzzle.??
The _Tim Horton Children’s Foundation_
(http://www.timhortonchildrensfoundation.com/) is dedicated to fostering within children the quest for a brighter
future and that means a lot to Bixman, a father of three. “The Children’s
Foundation provides the children with a way of making sure their future is
bright and successful and that’s what we need today. These children are our
future and the organization is doing everything in their power to make them the
leaders of the future, it’s very powerful.??
The foundation has five impressive camps in Canada, however in 2001 Tim
Horton’s expanded its efforts and goals by opening their first camp in the United
States. Tim Horton Camp Kentahten, Campbellsville occupies 50 acres of
waterfront property on Green River Lake, in the heart of Kentucky, just 120 miles
from Kentucky Speedway.
With the above being said, giving back is nothing new to S&H Motorsports and
the team will step it up a notch in 2006 by donating 50% of their race
winnings from this weekend’s race to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. “This
is a small token to show how much we believe and support the foundation,??
explained Bixman. “We feel that by donating the winnings from our races it will
allow more children to attend the camps, it’s not a hard decision.?? S&H
Motorsports has set up a link at _SandHMotorsports.com_
(http://www.sandhmotorsports.com/) where you can contribute to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation
Another reason it could be a big weekend for S&H Motorsports and the Tim
Horton Children’s Foundation is the team will carry an in-car camera for Friday’
s event. Once the green flag drops, it will mark the first time Bixman has
carried an in-car camera in his ARCA career.
“I think this is another reason why everyone is looking forward to Kentucky,??
mentioned Bixman. “The in-car camera is one of the most powerful marketing
tools available to us in ARCA and we plan to use that to our advantage. With
tens of thousands of viewers watching the live event, they will experience
the joy and importance of the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. It’s a massive
opportunity for S&H Motorsports to show our true commitment to the
foundation.??
In addition to _Tim Horton Children’s Foundation_
(http://www.timhortonchildrensfoundation.com/) , Permanent Floor Coatings, Deka Batteries, Richardson
Racing Products, Ford Racing, Penske Shocks, Lincoln Welders, Port City Racing,
S&H Contracting, Disposal Express, NGK Spark Plugs, Stanley Industries and
The Casite Company will all serve as associate marketing partners for the
second event from Kentucky Speedway this season. “Our marketing partners are
important to us,?? Bixman said. “Without them we wouldn’t be able to go racing. We
’ve had a good car in both of the events we’ve competed in this season,
just unfortunate circumstances that have kept us from true colors during the
race. We look to not let that happen this weekend.??
The WLWT Channel 5-150. (150 miles/100 laps) is the tenth of 23 events on
the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The teams will endure a one-day show at
Kentucky. Practice begins Friday, July 7th with a two hour-fifteen minute
(11:45am-2:00pm EST) session planned. Pork pole qualifying is on tap Friday
afternoon (5:00pm EST) with the race set to take the green flag at 8:00pm EST.
The race will be televised live on PEE beginning at 9:00pm EST. In addition,
_arcaracing.com_ (http://www.arcaracing.com/) will have all the latest news
and results from the track.
