Museum Launches "Ticket to Ride" Fundraiser

 

AUBURN - The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum has launched the 2006 "Ticket to
Ride" new car raffle. The raffle is one of the museum's more popular
fundraising events.  

 Tickets are available at $50 each and can be purchased at the museum, 1600
S. Wayne St. tickets are available for pick up at Ben Davis Chevrolet
Oldsmobile Buick Pontiac, Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Auburn Motor Sales
Company, Auburn Inn, Holiday Inn Express, LaQuinta Inn, Comfort Suites,
Super 8, AutoZone, Auburn House Restaurant and Steak n Shake in Auburn. The
Indiana gaming license used for this raffle is #107821.

Chances are excellent to win, with a one-in-333 chance of winning a prize,
and a one-in-999 chance of winning the grand prize - the winner's choice of
a 2007 Buick Lucerne from Ben Davis Chevrolet Oldsmobile Buick Pontiac, a
2007 Dodge Charger from Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep or a 2007 Ford Mustang
Coupe from Auburn Motor Sales Company. Each car is valued at $25,000.

The first-prize winner may choose between a new car or $20,000 in cash. A
second prize of $2,000 in cash and a third prize of $1,000 in cash will also
be awarded.

Tickets will be available until Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 5 p.m. The
drawing will then take place and winners will be announced Friday, December
15, 2006. 

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the non-profit Auburn Cord Duesenberg
Museum. Stephen O. Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana selected the cash option
as the first-prize winner in 2005. That was not the only time Jones has
profited from the museum raffle. In 2003, Jones won the second prize award
of $2,000 in cash.

The not-for-profit Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is located in the restored
1930 art deco administrative building of the former Auburn Automobile
Company. The museum displays 120 classic, antique, vintage and special
interest cars in eight galleries. The museum, accredited by the American
Association of Museums since 1997, is a National Historic Landmark.  The
museum is open to visitors daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
