Herta Holds On for 13th Place Finish
in XM Satellite Radio Car

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (July 2, 2006) - XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan Herta fought his way to a 13th
place finish in the Kansas Lottery Indy 300 on Sunday.
Herta, the 2003 winner at Kansas, worked all weekend to find speed in the car and made some
changes following the pre-race warmup in an effort to improve the car.  However, from the beginning stages
of the 200-lap event, Herta was having problems with grip and the balance of the car.
As the race progressed, Herta was a few laps down, battling several cars for position on his lap.  In
the closing laps, a couple of drivers made contact with the wall and Herta was able to gain spots in the field.
The result puts Herta in 11th place in the IndyCar Series championship, but only six points out of
seventh place.
Sam Hornish Jr. won his second-consecutive IndyCar Series race.  Rounding out the top five were
Dan Wheldon, Vitor Meira, Scott Sharp and Herta's AGR teammate Tony Kanaan.
Following a weekend hiatus, the IndyCar Series returns to the track on Saturday, July 15, from
Nashville Superspeedway with the Firestone Indy 200.  The ninth of 14 IndyCar Series races will be
broadcast live by ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. (EDT).  All IndyCar Series races can also be heard live by XM
Satellite Radio subscribers on XM channel 145, the official home of the IndyCar Series.

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I was hoping for more out of the XM Satellite Radio car today.  We didn't have a good car in the
warmup, so we took a stab at it for the race and we didn't make it better.  We just seem to be struggling right
now and can't get back to a good car.  We've just got to try and find our feet again at Nashville."

George Klotz, Team Manager, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We struggled all weekend and wanted to go into this race and give Bryan a little more confidence.
The car had a little bit of a push early in the race but the XM Satellite Radio car got better as the race went
on.  Toward the end of the race we had a pretty good car.  Unfortunately it was just too late."
