So it's very important to get the mechanical balance right as that's what you are relying on in the infield. The track is a bit dirty today so finding the right balance is difficult. We have entry instability and we have mid-corner understeer." Best lap 1.13.688, pos.11th) Tonio Liuzzi: "This is my first time at this circuit so I'm sure there is still a lot to come. The car seems to behave pretty well and we tried a lot of things for the race. I am quite happy with the way it's handling. Basically we had two good sessions and covered a lot of work. Sorry, got to go - Italy's playing!" (Best lap 1.13.735, pos. 14th) Neel Jani: "I am very happy with the way today went as we seem to have really good pace, even when staying on just one set of tyres this morning. In the afternoon, we did a race simulation and even in this situation I had really good lap times and the car felt good too. We did not need to make major changes, just adapting it to the changing grip levels." An you know what? You don't just go left, you go right too! You gotta lift off the gas and use the brake. I'm draggin' my arse on the last turn and I can see da wood flying down the back." (Best lap 1.13.688, pos.11th) Tonio Liuzzi: "Heck, my car's real loose but sometimes I get lots of push too. So I'm real confused and whoa I had a big bobble down the straightaway. Can I go watch the game now cos those awesome Eyetalian dudes are going to kick some Ukraine butt today. (Best lap 1.13.735, pos. 14th) Neel Jani: "I am a very serious Swiss racing driver looking for a permanent seat in F1. I cannot contemplate endorsing this childish attempt at humour. (Best lap 1.13.946, pos. 17th) GRAN PREMIO DEGLI STATI UNITI 2006 - Venerdì 30/06/06 C'ERA UNA VOLTA IN AMERICA Scott Speed: "Non ci sono troppe curve qui, ma è comunque una pista complicata, anche perché la maneggevolezza della macchina non è eccezionale, dato che abbiamo scaricato completamente l'aerodinamica per poter avere una buona velocità in rettilineo. E' molto importante conservare un buon bilanciamento aerodinamico perché ce n'è bisogno nella parte interna del tracciato. Tra l'altro la pista era abbastanza sporca oggi, per cui trovare la messa a punto ideale era abbastanza difficile. Abbiamo dovuto vedercela con una certa instabilità e nelle curve medio-veloci avevamo sottosterzo". (Miglior giro: 1'13''688, pos. 11°) Tonio Liuzzi: "E' la prima volta per me su questo circuito, per cui sono sicuro che c'è ancora molto da migliorare. La macchina sembra comportarsi abbastanza bene, e dobbiamo provare molte cose in vista della gara. Siamo abbastanza contenti della sua maneggevolezza. Abbiamo disputato due buone sessioni, e svolto un bel po' di lavoro. Scusatemi ma adesso devo andare: sta giocando l'Italia". (Miglior giro: 1'13''735, pos. 14°) Neel Jani: "Sono molto contento per come è andata oggi. Sembra che abbiamo veramente un buon passo pur avendo utilizzato un solo treno di gomme, stamattina. Nel pomeriggio, abbiamo effettuato una simulazione di gara e nonostante questo ho staccato tempi competitivi e la macchina mi sembrava a posto. Non ho avuto bisogno di effettuare molti cambiamenti, ma solo di adattarci all'evolvere del livello di aderenza".
