Savage Off-Road Racing  Report ? Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run

After a very successful opening weekend of racing in Antigo (two  
podium finishes), Mike Savage and his family supported pit crew were  
hopeful to continue the string of top 5 performances.

Saturday - Round 3

KC Hilites Sportsman 2 Race
As usual, the always calm and collected Mike Savage had his #264  
Savage Construction, Ringers Gloves, Phil?s Inc. Kumho Tires Ford  
F-150 were lined up in the middle of the first row as the 12 truck  
field readied themselves for the Precision Gear Land
rush start.
As the green flag fell all 12 Sportsman 2 trucks headed for the Forest  
County Potowatomi Turn One. Mike Savage gets through cleanly in 5th  
place. Immediately Mike and his #264 Savage Construction, Ringers  
Gloves, Phil?s Inc. Kumho Tires Ford F-150 were battling with the 4th  
place truck of Don Williams. The two trucks were bumper to bumper when  
on lap 8 Mike made the pass for fourth. At the checkered flag, the  
finishing order was 1st-Dan Boudoux, 2nd Ben Wandasega, 3rd Russ Hoek,  
and 4th Mike ?the Privateer? Savage.

Sunday - Round 4

AMSOIL Sportsman 2 Race
At drop of the green flag, Mike and his Kumho Tire shod Ford F-150  
charged through Turn One in third place behind #217 Baudoux and #210  
Hoek.  On lap two the #210 headed for the pits to change a flat tire.  
This moved Mike Savage into second place. Suddenly the truck lost all  
power after a hard landing coming off the American Axle TracLite Jump.  
As quickly as the race began, Round 4 was done for Mike.

Officially Mike was credited with a sixth place finish. Currently Mike  
Savage is in fourth place in the 2006 Lucas Oil CORR Sportsman 2  
Championship. The chase of the championship is very tight as only four  
points separate second through fourth place.

	1st ? Dan Baudoux  71 pts.
	2nd ? Ross Hoek 56 pts.
	3rd ? Ben Wandasega 54pts.
	4th ? Mike Savage 52pts.
