Eric Ruppel - Championship Off-Road Racing Forest County Potawatomi
Brush Run Report

Saturday - Round 3

After winning Round 2 in Antigo, Wisconsin, Eric Ruppel and his Loose
Cannon Race Team were confident the team would find their way back on
the podium. Just as in Antigo, the racetrack added additional prize
money, thanks to the generosity of Forest County Potowatomi, to the
winners of each event on Saturday.

Saturday morning saw light rain ending just before practice making the
track conditions almost perfect for the day?s racing. Eric went out
for a quick 3-lap practice and found the 1.5-mile Crandon ?long
course? suited his truck very well.

The famous land rush start had Eric getting cleanly through in seventh
place. As the pack headed for the American Axle Jump, Eric was right
behind Keith Steele and Dave Waldvogel. On lap 2 the #837 Chetek
Off-Road, Art Carr Transmission, Phil?s Inc. BFGoodrich Tire Ford-F150
moved up to sixth placed when Waldvogel spun in the Lucas Oil gravel
pit turn. Suddenly the truck began to misfire causing the truck to run
at a reduced pace. Quickly Eric switched to his backup MSD Ignition,
but the engine problem persisted.

Eric persevered and brought home the truck in 7th place.

Sunday ? Round 4

Miller Lite Sportsman Stock Race
Overnight Eric and his Loose Cannon Race Team found a broken rocker
arm stud that caused the truck to run on seven cylinders during
Saturday?s race. The problem was easily fixed and the team was ready
for Round 4.

The morning practice session was cancelled due to the rain that fell
overnight and into the morning. This gave everyone more time to make
final preparations for the day?s events.

At the drop of the green flag, the twelve Stock Trucks charged for
Turn One. As the field headed for BorgWarner Turn Two Eric was in the
fourth spot just a head of #34 Rod Wells. Later in the lap the
BFGoodrich shod Ford F-150 moved to third when #841 Jason Bort dropped
back. Immediately Eric moved to the back bumper of second place #Al
Konitzer. Suddenly the engine began to run sour. At this point Eric
just pulled the truck off the track after 3 laps.

Eric was credited with a 12th place finish.

After four rounds of racing Eric Ruppel sits in 7th place overall in
the 2006 Lucas Oil CORR Sportsman Stock Truck Championship, just 20
points out of the lead.

?We just ran into some unforeseen problems this weekend. The trucks
really ran well until our engine failure. Our rocker arm problem
probably help attribute to the connecting rod failure on Sunday. We
just have to plug in our spare motor for Bark River while our primary
gets a thorough refreshening. The track in Bark River is a favorite
track of ours, especially since our first CORR win came there last
year.? -stated Eric Ruppel.

Next Race - July 8-9 ? Island Inn Casino UP Off-Road 100 ? Bark River,
Michigan.
