Independence Day Celebration Irwindale Speedway

IRWINDALE, Calif. (June 27, 2006) – 
Irwindale Speedway will jump start the Independence Day celebration with its 
annual spectacular fireworks show Saturday (July 1) during Fireworks Presented 
by Advantage Ford Night. The fifteen minute show will take place immediately 
following the conclusion of racing activities that features five 
races.

people that Irwindale Speedway has the best fireworks show in the San Gabriel Valley area,” said Bob DeFazio, COO and 
General Manager. “We’re glad to be putting on a great night of racing and 
fireworks entertainment for our fans and do our part to kick off the celebration 
of a very special day in American history.”    

 

Races highlighting 
Saturday’s action include the Auto Club Late Model Series paced by points leader 
Travis Thirkettle who is also riding a five-race win streak. Bryan Harrell is 
also hot, leading the Vista Paint Super Stock series with a victory string of 
four consecutive wins. Rick Crow leads the Justice Bros. Pure Stocks points 
battle with victories in his last two starts. Austin Grabowski’s two race win 
streak has tightened the Legend Cars points battle with a 16 point spread 
separating leader Tom Landreth, second place Conner Cantrell and Grabowski. 
Bandoleros round out the action.

 

Gates open at 4 p.m. with 
heat races to determine starting grids. The King Taco fan appreciation autograph 
session will take place on the track at 5:45 p.m. with the first green flag 
waved at 7 p.m. 

 

Fans are encouraged to 
purchase tickets early as Fireworks Night annually attracts one of the largest 
crowds of the season.

Speedway events are available for purchase at the Speedway ticket office, by calling (626) 
358-1100 and online at www.irwindalespeedway.com. Auto Club of Southern California members receive a 10% 
discount off of the purchase of up to four (4) adult general admission tickets 
for Saturday oval racing when they show their AAA membership card. Auto Club 
members can also receive discounts on special offers at the concession and 
souvenir stands.
