The Cobalt Group Promotes Dean Evans to Vice President Field Marketing; Evans to Direct Field Marketing Initiatives for Cobalt's Two Largest Divisions
SEATTLE--June 27, 2006--The Cobalt Group, Inc., the leading provider of marketing services to the automotive industry, today announced it has promoted Dean Evans, formerly VP Marketing at Cobalt's Dealix Division, to VP Field Marketing for Cobalt's Dealix and applications divisions."Dean is an outstanding marketer -- one of the best in our industry," said John Holt, CEO and President of The Cobalt Group. "In his new role, we are delighted to expand Dean's sphere of influence to include Cobalt's two largest divisions. In this newly-created position, Evans will direct all of Cobalt's field marketing initiatives targeted to automotive dealers. Evans' track record is impressive: in just three years at Dealix, his innovative marketing strategies helped to catapult Dealix from start-up to market leader. Evans is also an auto industry veteran. Before being recruited to Dealix, Evans was the manager of global customer relationship management and e-business at Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover of North America (AMJLR), after serving as manager of e-business and new media for Land Rover of North America.
Prior to AMJLR, Evans was executive director of product development at Autofusion Corporation, where he was responsible for site strategy, configuration and content, and for managing dealer acquisition programs. Prior to Autofusion, Evans was the manager of the automotive category at Nextag.com, a startup Internet company, where he defined the online strategy, developed Web site content, and led dealer acquisition programs.
From 1998-1999, Evans was general manager and operations director of a full-line Chrysler Corporation dealership, and before that, held various positions in management at DaimlerChrysler between 1991-1998, including directing customer service and wholesale operations, and providing technical support and training to dealers using the Get-a-Quote lead generation management system. Evans is one of the Founders of AAISP, an AAISP Board of Directors member, and AAISP Nomination Committee Chair.
