Freightliner Standardizes on MDI's ONE(TM) Unified Technology(TM) Platform; MDI Releases Case Study Highlighting Value of their Open Architecture Command & Control Operating System in America's Largest Commercial Vehicle Manufacturer

SAN ANTONIO--June 27, 2006--MDI, Inc. , the leading manufacturer of Unified Technology(TM) solutions for the security industry, today released a case study based on their successful business partnership with Freightliner, LLC, a DaimlerChrysler Company. Based in Portland, Oregon, Freightliner employs over 26,000 people at sites across North America.

An MDI customer since 1993, the company has standardized its security operations and management around MDI's ONE Unified Technology platform. With ONE, Freightliner maintains centralized command and control of their entire North American operations. By unifying MDI's SAFEnet(R) access control and alarm management software, MDI's VIEWpoint(TM) video surveillance solutions and a variety of third party security products, the Freightliner security team gained uninterrupted, secure and redundant multi-site situational awareness.

"MDI offers a horizontal platform which allows us to quickly integrate just about anything we want into it," said Jeff Githens, owner of Abel Communications and lead security system designer for Freightliner. "MDI offered the only system that met Freightliner's comprehensive security requirements, which included support for multiple sites and unlimited scalability," he added.
