Textron's Kenneth Bohlen Addresses Innovation, Emerging Technology, and New Product Development at Frost & Sullivan Forum

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--June 27, 2006--Textron Inc.'s Kenneth C. Bohlen, executive vice president and chief innovation officer, spoke last week at Frost & Sullivan's 2nd Annual Emerging Technologies, New Product Development and Marketing Innovations Executive MindXchange in San Diego, CA. The conference was attended by more than 150 executives and managers from a broad range of markets. Bohlen shared thoughts on innovation and how it should permeate all areas of a company's business, across operations and industries.

"Innovation is a key component in Textron's approach to business and in satisfying customer needs," said Bohlen. "Across the Textron enterprise, we are committed to delivering innovative technology benefits to the customer - even benefits that may not be expected. The V-22 Osprey is a prime example of marrying two technologies to deliver the customer additional benefits."

Bohlen also addressed innovation and strategy topics, including:

-- Managing opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technology;

-- Committing to a strategy in the face of technological uncertainty;

-- Partnering with third parties to advance research & development; and

-- Improving the capabilities to develop breakthrough product concepts.
