It has also proven very reliable and efficient, with cabs in San Francisco accumulating more than 125,000 miles of severe use with few mechanical problems, and taxi drivers are saving up to $30 per shift on fuel.

The City and County of Denver is a national leader in focused sustainability efforts, aimed at improving air and water quality, reducing waste and conserving energy. In the early 90s, the City of Denver created the first Green Fleets program in the nation by purchasing alternative fuel vehicles. Today, the City fleet includes numerous hybrid electric and E-85 capable vehicles, as well as vehicles fueled by biodiesel, propane and compressed natural gas. Denver International Airport has also recently converted to all-alternative fuel fleet, including the used of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, hybrids and biodiesel.
