Literal translation? "I heat my chariot!" Tonio Liuzzi: "I spent the morning learning the circuit, as I have never been here before. The track was very dirty so I just did a few laps to get a feel for the car. We made some changes for the second session and I think we moved forward in the right direction all the time. I am learning the track quite quickly but I think that tomorrow I can still improve and get more out of the car. We seem quite competitive and the car was very good even though we will struggle for top speed here with the V10." (Best lap 1.18.009, pos. 8th) Scott Speed: "I was on a long run at the end of the second session, so the lap time doesn't mean much. As expected, the track here gets better as the day goes on. We had a good test session in Monza and we thought we might be able to do something good here and I think we could be surprisingly competitive. We are not worried about brakes: with the reduction in power I think it's less of an issue than it used to be. The balance of the car is pretty good. This track is about the trade-off between top speed and stability. The car is lively here and sliding, and you have to ride the kerbs and our car seems to be doing all that quite well right now." (Best lap 1.18.907, pos. 20th) Neel Jani: "The morning was really good, staying on one set of tyres all the time. I think we made some useful improvements, then this afternoon I did the usual long run. I was a bit unlucky in that on two of my quickest laps I encountered traffic. But the important thing is that we got good tyre comparison results. At one point I had a brake problem, but it did not cost much time." (Best lap 1.19.541, pos. 25th) GRAN PREMIO DEL CANADA 2006 - Venerdì 23/06/06 "Je chauffe mon char"* * Persino i francesi non capiscono il senso di quest'espressione, nella strana ma divertente lingua canadese, che sta per 'je conduis ma voiture' ovvero 'piloto la mia macchina'. Traduzione letterale: 'Riscaldo la mia carretta'. Tonio Liuzzi: "Ho trascorso la mattinata ad imparare la pista, dato che è la prima volta che guido qui. La pista era molto sporca ed ho dovuto percorrere qualche giro prima di trovare un buon feeling con la macchina. Abbiamo effettuato qualche modifica prima della seconda sessione e credo che siamo andati nella giusta direzione. Sto imparando la pista abbastanza velocemente ma credo che domani sarò ancora in fase d'apprendistato per poter sfruttare al massimo il potenziale della vettura. Sembriamo abbastanza competitivi anche se abbiamo qualche difficoltà con la velocità massima a causa del V10". (Miglior giro: 1'18''009, pos. 8°) Scott Speed: "Stavo effettuando una prova di durata verso la fine della seconda sessione, per cui il tempo sul giro non significa molto. Come previsto le condizioni della pista sono via via migliorate nel corso della giornata. Avevamo disputato una buona sessione di collaudo a Monza, per cui pensavamo di poter fare qualcosa di buono qui, e credo che potremo essere sorprendentemente competitivi. Non abbiamo timori coi freni, per quanto concerne la riduzione della potenza credo che sarà meno penalizzante che altrove. Questo tracciato richiede un compromesso tra velocità di punta e stabilità, la macchina è abbastanza ben bilanciata, è vivace e scivola bene. Per andar forte su questa pista bisogna salire sui cordoli e la nostra macchina sembra funzionare abbastanza bene". (Miglior giro: 1'18''907, pos. 20°) Neel Jani: "Questa mattina è andata veramente bene, pur avendo usato sempre lo stesso treno di gomme. Credo che abbiamo effettuato alcuni miglioramenti molto utili, poi questo pomeriggio ho completato l'abituale prova di durata. Sono stato un po' sfortunato perché in un paio di giri veloci ho trovato un po' di traffico. La cosa importante è che abbiamo potuto effettuare una buona prova di confronto degli pneumatici. Ad un certo punto, ho avuto un problema coi freni, ma non ho perso troppo tempo".
