General Motors Highlights Commitment to Corn-based Ethanol at World's Largest Rodeo and Western Celebration

GMC Dealers Provide FlexFuel Vehicles for Greeley Independence Stampede

Greeley, CO - June 23, 2006: Colorado's GMC dealers are drawing attention to their vehicles that can run on corn-based E85 fuel with a high-visibility promotion at the Greeley Independence Stampede, June 23 through July 4, 2006.

GMC, which is providing the official vehicles of Greeley Stampede, will have a display throughout the 12-day event featuring a GMC FlexFuel Sierra pickup with a load of corn in the bed. FlexFuel vehicles can run on either standard gasoline or E85, which is a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.

GMC also will be giving away at the Stampede 1,000 T-shirts featuring GM's "Live Green Go Yellow" campaign (www.livegreengoyellow.com), which highlights how corn is used in the production of E85. E85 reduces greenhouse gas emissions while reducing dependence on foreign oil and supporting local corn growers. Already more than 1.5 million GM FlexFuel vehicles are on the road nationally.

"We're pleased to be a part of this event," said Gerry Harrow of Weld County Garage, a Greeley Buick, GMC Pontiac dealership. "This is a great opportunity to show GM's commitment to advanced technology vehicles and alternative fuel. Currently, GM offers more choices of E85 FlexFuel vehicles than any other manufacturer."

Harrow was recently named president of the E85 (Ethanol) Coalition created by Colorado Governor Bill Owens. The Coalition's goal is to educate Colorado's FlexFuel vehicle owners about the benefits and availability of E85.

"Colorado Corn is pleased to see GM take the lead in the promotion and production of FlexFuel vehicles," said Bernie Lange, director of communications for the Colorado Corn Growers Association, which counts about 600 farmers as members.

Stampede Committee members also will be driving GMC vehicles throughout the event.
