AAA Foundation to Release New Research Showing Safety Measures That Significantly Lower Death and Injury Crash Rates for Teen Drivers; AAA to Also Reveal New Analysis that Shows July and August are Deadliest Months for 16- and 17-year-old Drivers
--WHAT: The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety will release new scientifically valid research about the impact of Graduated Driver Licensing laws and parental involvement on 16- and 17-year-old drivers. The report will reveal for the first time the three factors that distinguish crash-free teens from crash-involved teens. AAA will also provide state by state data of the number of deaths resulting from crashes of 16- and 17-year-old drivers. WHY: Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers and the AAA Foundation data analysis shows that there are more teen driver deaths in the month of July and August than any other months.
