Kid’s  Box Car and Big Wheel Racing Returns to SSP This Week along with Great 
Racing  Action 
NEWBERRYTOWN,  PA (June 13, 2006) – The  Sprint Cars return to SSP on  
Thursday night, June 22 featuring the ever-popular Kid’s Box Car Racing along  with 
Sprint Cars, Xtreme Stock Cars, Classic Cylinders and a make up Xtreme  Stock 
Car feature from June 1.   Lots  of great prizes will be available for all 
entrants in the Kid’s Box Car  Races.  All  children 12 and under are encouraged 
to decorate their boxes and compete in the  races.  A box car is a  racecar 
made out of a box (with their arms, legs and head sticking out).  Two family 
members or friends are needed  for the pit crew.  This will be a  two-(2) lap 
race (on the frontstretch) with a pit stop.  The pit stop will include taking off 
and  putting shoes back on both feet for tire changes, washing the face to 
clean  windshield and drinking a drink for fuel.   
On  Friday night, June 23, the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and 
Street  Stocks will be in competition along with Kid’s Big Wheel racing.  All 
kids are  encouraged to bring their own Big Wheels, however there will be some 
available  at the track for those who do not have big wheels.  Lots of great 
prizes will be available  for all entrants. 
On  Friday night, a special guest celebrity will be singing the National  
Anthem.  Lou Lloyd from New York City, originally from Harrisburg, will be  
starting of the evening with the Star Spangled Banner.  Lloyd appeared in many 
movies including  Friday the 13th (Part 8), soap operas and many times on  
Broadway.  He was also a stand-in  for John Candy.   
Gates  will open for both the pit area and grandstand area at 5:00 p.m. on 
Thursdays  and Fridays.  Warmups begin at  7:00 p.m. with racing action  
beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Race fans can continue to expect a fast  paced, action packed 
2 ½ to 3 hour program each and every night.   
Regular  General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Thursday nights will 
be Adults  (18 & older) $14.00; Teens (13-17) $10.00; Children (12 & under) 
are  free.  Pit pass prices are $22.00  with a reduced price of $20.00 for all 
pit competitor license holders.  Prices will be slightly higher for  special 
events.   
Regular  General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Friday nights will be 
Adults (18  & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $10.00; Children (12 & under) are  
free.  Pit pass prices are $20.00  with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit 
competitor license holders.  Prices will be slightly higher for  special 
events.   
SSP  continues its Repeat Fan Discount in 2006 in which there will be a $2.00 
 discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous 2 
 events completed only.  SSP is  offering any fan with a ticket stub from 
June 15 or June 16, a $2.00 discount to  the races on June 22 or June 23 only.  
Returning  fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on 
the back of  the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season 
for great  prizes.  Last season, 10 winners  were drawn from the repeat fans 
and each winner received $30.00 in  SSP Gift Certificates for tickets  or 
concessions.  The discount is not  valid for pit pass purchases.

New  Schedule in the Works for After “Vacation Break�?? Racing  – With the 
numerous cancellations due to rain in the first part of the season,  there will 
be a revised schedule released in the near future for all events  scheduled 
after July 20 through the remainder of the season.  The divisions with make-up 
feature added  or cancellations to be rescheduled include ARDC Midgets, Legends 
Cars, Four  Cylinder Stock Cars, Women on Wheels Stock Cars and more.   
More  information from June 1 Postponement - Rainchecks  from Thursday night, 
June 1 will be honored for a regularly priced event ($14.00  or less) for the 
months of June or July on Thursdays or Fridays.  The events were postponed 
after the  severe thunderstorms hit the speedway grounds around 8:30 p.m.  The 
feature for the Xtreme Stock Cars  will be made up on Thursday, June 22.  The 
postponed Four Cylinders 15 lap feature is rescheduled for Friday  night, 
August 11.  The pit passes  are not valid for these divisions as all qualifying 
events were completed and  double features will be run on those nights. 
More  Information About Friday, June 9 Cancellation  - The racing events 
scheduled for Friday night, June 9 have been  canceled due to afternoon 
thunderstorms hitting the speedway  grounds.  The event will not be made up.  Advance 
ticket sale  purchases for Friday, June 9 may be exchanged for Thursday,  August 
3 tickets for the return of the National Sprint Tour to central  
Pennsylvania.  Contact 717-292-1696 for  more information.
