IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY King Taco Family Night


IRWINDALE, Calif. (June 20, 2006) – 
King Taco Super Truck series points leader Ron Peterson puts his nine-race win 
streak on the line this Saturday (June 24) at Irwindale Speedway  during King Taco Family Night where kids 
12 and under are admitted for free. Peterson’s win streak dates back to last 
year and if the Riverside resident is 
successful in extending it, he will have broken the current track record for 
consecutive victories set by Todd Burns during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.    

 

Four other races highlight 
Saturday’s action including the Pick Your Part Figure 8’s featuring Jesse James, 
the host of Discovery Channel’s popular television show, Monster Garage. Lucas 
Oil Super Late Model series leader Van Knill will attempt to increase his nine 
point lead over Dan Moore. Series leader Tyler Rogers will seek to increase his 
win total, which stands at five, in Snap-on Tool Mini Stocks action. Tom 
Landreth enters Legend Cars action with a commanding 64 point series lead over 
his father, Bob Landreth. The Alta Loma resident’s third place finish on June 3 
snapped a four race win streak. 

 

Gates open at 4 p.m. with 
heat races to determine starting grids. The King Taco fan appreciation autograph 
session will take place on the track at 5:45 p.m. with the first green flag 
waved at 7 p.m.

Test and Tune, the popular 
activity held weekly takes place this Thursday (June 22) under the lights from 
5-10p.m. The activity allows local drag racers the opportunity race their street 
legal cars on Irwindale Speedway’s 1/8-mile drag strip. It costs only $20.00 to 
race, $10.00 to watch ($5.00 for kids 12-6 yrs. and 5 yrs. and under are 
admitted for free).

 

Tickets for all Irwindale 
Speedway events are available for purchase at the Speedway ticket office, by calling (626) 
358-1100 and online at www.irwindalespeedway.com. Auto Club of Southern California members receive a 10% 
discount off of the purchase of up to four (4) adult general admission tickets 
for Saturday oval racing when they show their AAA membership card. Auto Club 
members can also receive discounts on special offers at the concession and 
souvenir stands.
