CALIFORNIA DIRT FOCUS MIDGETS RETURN TO BAKERSFIELD; MEIER WINS AT TRACY

INDIANAPOLIS – Bobby Michnowicz leads the USAC California Ford Focus Dirt
Midget Car Series back into action Saturday at Bakersfield Speedway in
California, seeking his third victory of the season in an attempt to further
his point lead.

Michnowicz holds a 15-point advantage over Chris Veach in the standings.
Michnowicz won the only other event at Bakersfield for the series this year.

Jace Meier of Las Vegas won the USAC California Ford Focus Pavement Midget
Car Series event Saturday at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif.,
leading the final six laps after taking the lead from Garrett Peterson. He
beat Dutch driver Laura Poorter, series point leader Michael Faccinto, Paul
Zimmerly and Nic Faas.

Faccinto, driving for NHRA Funny Car driver Gary Scelzi, owns a 38-point
lead over Meier in the standings. The next event for the series is July 22
at Madera Speedway in California.
