RIETHMEYER WINS SHENANDOAH; CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUS MIDGETS HIBERNATE UNTIL
JULY 2
INDIANAPOLIS – Bradley Riethmeyer won USAC’s Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus
Midget Car Series 35-lap feature Saturday at Shenandoah Speedway in
Virginia, the final event for the series for nearly three weeks.
The All American Driver Challenge winner Riethmeyer, of Houston, Texas,
ended Chase Scott’s four-race winning streak by taming the 4/10-mile
Shenandoah track for his second victory of the season and second of his
career. He took the lead from Ryan Scott on Lap 4 and was never headed the
rest of the way.
Following Riethmeyer and the No. 11 All American Driver Challenge Beast/Ford
Focus were Aron Oakley, Ryan Scott, Brad Noffsinger and Mark Burt.
Chase Scott, who finished sixth, is still 52 points ahead of Riethmeyer in
the standings.
The series continues July 2 at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, N.C.
