Geodetic Systems to Host V-STARS User Group Meeting
at the Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) 2006, Tuesday,
July 18, in Orlando, Florida
Melbourne, FL -- June 20, 2006 -- Geodetic Systems, Inc (GSI), a leading
provider of portable 3D coordinate measurement systems, announced today
the company will host a V-STARS User Group meeting at the Coordinate
Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) 2006. The meeting will be held on
Tuesday afternoon, July 18, starting at 4 PM, at the Doubletree Hotel,
located at the entrance to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
V-STARS users will join with GSI and their network of global
representatives to get a first hand update on the latest innovations in
photogrammetry and non-contact measurement. The featured speaker will be
Mr. John D. Brown, president of Geodetic Systems, Inc., who will discuss
technical advances in 3D digital imaging. GSI exclusively develops and
markets the V-STARS photogrammetry systems used by manufacturers and
scientists worldwide to capture high precision measurements in the most
demanding settings (inside or outside), where variable conditions like
vibration, movement and extreme temperatures are found.
CMSC 2006 (www.cmsc.org) is the only North American conference dedicated
solely to those responsible for bringing the measurement and inspection
of manufactured and assembled components to the factory floor. In
addition to the User Group meeting, Geodetic Systems will feature their
V-STARS product line in the sold-out CMSC Exhibitor Hall showcasing
exhibitors who serve the technology needs of the industrial measurement
marketplace. During this annual Conference for measurement
professionals, GSI Users and its representatives will also present three
industry white papers covering a range of photogrammetry applications.
V-STARS is the unrivalled solution for "portable" 3D coordinate
measurement and inspection. The metrology system is used by diverse
industries such as aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, power
generation, antennas and space hardware, and more. At the heart of
V-STARS is the 8-megapixel INCA3 photogrammetric camera, which merges a
proven ultra-high-resolution CCD sensor with a powerful, compact
PC-based computer. The high precision camera is best suited for in-place
measurement and inspection of large objects and assemblies.
What is Metrology? What is Photogrammetry?
The science of measurement is known as the field of metrology.
Engineers, manufacturers, scientists, and quality control technicians
utilize measurement technology in their own unique disciplines.
Photogrammetry is a three-dimensional coordinate measuring technique
that uses photographs as the fundamental medium for metrology. GSI
offers the most comprehensive product line based on industrial
photogrammetry in the marketplace.
