GM Certified Used Vehicles Sells Two-Millionth Unit

Market-Leading Certified Brand is Industry's First Manufacturer-Certified Program to Reach Sales Milestone

DETROIT June 19, 2006; General Motors Corporation announced today that GM Certified Used Vehicles, the industry’s top-selling manufacturer-certified used vehicle brand, according to Autodata Corp.*, sold its two-millionth unit this month. GM Certified Used Vehicles is the automotive industry’s first manufacturer-certified used vehicle program to pass the 2-million sales milestone.

GM Certified Used Vehicles – which includes Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC and Oldsmobile models – has led all manufacturers in annual certified pre-owned vehicle sales every year since 2002, according to Autodata. GM Certified Used Vehicles sold 455,498 units in 2005, setting a new all-time annual sales record for the certified pre-owned category for the fourth consecutive year, and Chevrolet again ranked as the industry’s top-selling single-line make certified used vehicle brand for the second consecutive year, according to Autodata.

GM Certified Used Vehicles posted sales of 38,471 units in May 2006, up 15 percent from the previous May. GM Certified 2006 sales are 191,523 units, up 4 percent year-to-date from the same period in 2005.
