9-FOR-9 AT The PAS SATURDAY???

KRUSEMAN SLICES GARDNER'S LEAD TO 3 AT SANTA MARIA

Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway has become USAC's most unpredictable track with eight different race winners in the eight USAC/CRA races conducted there so far this season! All eight winners currently rank in the "top-10" in series standings, so Danny Sheridan (fourth) and David Cardey (eighth) will try to add their names to the list Saturday.

The 1/2-mile dirt oval has more than a dozen USAC races left on its 2006 slate so opportunities abound for first-time winners.

Cory Kruseman, who has already won there this year, sliced Damion Gardner's point lead to just three markers after winning Saturday's 30-lapper at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway. He trailed Gardner for nine laps, then led the rest of the way in his ITI Performance/Sander Engineering Bullet/Downing to beat Mike Spencer, Sheridan, Rip Williams and J Hicks.

Cardey posted the fastest qualifying time as Gardner, who owns 11 FQs already this season, ranked seventh in qualifying.
