FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE DUCK - WQKC 93.7 NIGHT

BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY FEATURES SPRINTS, MODIFIEDS, & SUPER STOCKS

ON FRIDAY, JUNE 23

BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 18, 2006) - The good folks at The Duck WQKC 93.7 will be joining us for a great evening of racing on June 23. When this bunch of fun guys show up at Bloomington Speedway you never know what to expect. However, if it isn't fun, they pretty much won't have anything to do with it. Whatever they happen to have in mind should almost certainly add a little more fun to your evening; and, when you're talking about an evening at Bloomington Speedway, even a little more fun is hard to imagine.

By the time that June 23rd arrives we should already have nine races in the books. The drivers who have had good nights in the first nine shows will be happily at the top of the points standings. However, they will not be deluded into thinking that they should be comfortable there. A position in the points standings can go bad with a bad outing; and the competitors know it. For that reason, they will race every Friday night as if it were the final race of the season. On the other hand, those competitors who have had a bad start to their season know that they can still recover if they do their job well.

Bloomington Speedway will feature sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products modifieds, and Tire and Wheel Center super stocks. All three classes typically show up in force every Friday night. The full pits that are a trademark of Bloomington Speedway insure a lot of racing. A typical program includes 12 heat races, 3 B features, and 3 features. At some tracks, a program like that could run to the wee hours of the morning. However, Mike Miles and his able staff do everything in their power to keep the program moving. And, the competitors know that when it's their time to race, they'd better be in the staging area and ready to go. Consequently, most are there when they need to be.

We never know for sure which competitors will show up on Friday night; but it's pretty good bet that the ones who lead the points standings will be there. After all most of them have probably been at Bloomington Speedway every Friday night this season.

The top ten competitors in this year's points are::

Sprint Cars: 1. Kent Christian, 2. Kevin Briscoe, 3. Kenny Carmichael, Sr., 4. Jon Stanbrough, 5. Jared Fox, 6. Kenny Carmichael, Jr., 7. Josh Cunningham, 8. Bobby Stines, 9. Chris Windom, 10. Steve Rone

O'Neal Wood Products Modifieds: 1. Jesse Cramer, 2. Ryan Thomas, 3. Jeff Bland, Jr., 4. Kent Robinson, 5. John DeMoss, 6. Matt Boknecht, 7. Clint DeMoss, 8. Ray Humphrey, 9. Shelby Miles, 10. Greg Deckard

Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks: 1. Jeremy Hines, 2. Greg Kendall (tie), 2. Kevin Arthur, 4. Joe Lucas, 5. Greg Amick, 6. Ben DuBois, 7. Winston Howe, 8. Jack Frye, 9. Troy Clark, 10. Steve Hollars

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event (children six and under are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult; and children 7 - 12 are admitted for only $5 when accompanied by a paying adults.); and pit admission is $20. Coolers are permitted; but glass containers aren't. Overnight camping is also permitted.

SPRINTS

O'NEAL WOOD PRODUCTS MODIFIEDS

TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCKS

AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY ON JUNE 30

BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 18, 2006) - On June 30, Bloomington Speedway will feature our three regular classes - sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks. In addition, we'll have a spectacular ariel fireworks display courtesy of Bloomington Powersports.

Mike and Judy Miles have pulled out all of the stops to make this one of the best shows of the year by running all three of our regular classes along with the spectacular fireworks display.

Kent Christian is leading the sprint car points by a narrow margin over Kevin Briscoe. Christian is going after his first sprint car championship at Bloomington Speedway while Briscoe has four championships to his credit. Kenny Carmichael is having a very good year; and he is also capable of winning the championship as are John Stanbrough, Jared Fox and a number of other very talented sprint car drivers.

Jesse Cramer seems to be the man to beat in the O'Neal Wood Products modified division. Of course, Ryan Thomas, Jeff Bland, Jr., Kent Robinson, and John DeMoss as well as a whole host of other modified drivers.will be on hand in search of another feature win.

Jeremy Hines, Kevin Arthur, Greg Amick, Winston Howe, Gary Trammell, Chris Hillman, and Steve Sutliff have all won a feature in the Tire & Wheel Center super stock division; however, there have been several other drivers who have run consistently well in the super stocks. They too can be expected to put in a good show on June 30.

As competitive as our regular drivers are, the real star of a Bloomington Speedway racing program is the track itself. Just about everyone who comes to Bloomington Speedway for the first time raves about the beautifully manicured racing surface. The rest of the facility is equally well-kept; and the view from the grandstand is simply beautiful.
