Hyundai-Sponsored Tuner Meet Returns to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course For Third Annual Triple Crown Tuner Challenge, June 23-25
LEXINGTON, Ohio, June 19 -- Hyundai Motor America has tapped the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and the Triple Crown Tuner Challenge as the site of its annual Tiburon tuning enthusiast meet this summer. This marks the third year that Hyundai has invited tuners to the venerable raceway.
For the past two years, Hyundai has hosted, on average, about 40 third- generation (MY 2003-2006) Tiburons at each meet. Owners have come from at least one dozen states, some from as far away as Florida and New York. Many of these tuning enthusiasts have entered their vehicles in the Triple Crown Tuner Challenge's speed, style and audio competition. Since the event's inception, a Tiburon owner has claimed the "King of the Streets" championship trophy, rewarding the participant with the best cumulative score in the style, performance and audio disciplines.
"There are some really talented tuners and drivers in our ownership ranks," said Curt McAllister, Midwestern public relations representative for Hyundai Motor America. "Many of our participants have invested a lot of money and wrench time into modifying their vehicles. This event gives them the chance to show off their cars, while testing their driving abilities on one of America's best race courses."
