Tim Sauter Throwing Out First Pitch
NASCAR Driver Tim Sauter Throwing Out First Pitch
Wisconsin Native To Represent Lester Buildings And The Milwaukee Mile
On June 21st
MILWAUKEE (June 19, 2006) – Lester Buildings and The Milwaukee Mile
have struck a marketing partnership, allowing visibility both at the
historic speedway and in the community for Lester Buildings, now the
“Official Building of The Milwaukee Mile.??
As one of the many activities planned building up to the June 24th
AT&T NASCAR Busch Series race at The Mile, Lester Buildings’ NASCAR
Busch Series-sponsored driver Tim Sauter will throw out the first
pitch prior to the 1:05 p.m. CST Milwaukee Brewers vs. Detroit Tigers
this Wednesday, June 21st at Miller Park. Sauter, a Necedah, Wis.
native hopes to bring his boys with him onto the field, as the
veteran NASCAR driver’s family has grown up following their home
state team.
Sauter, the middle of three brothers competing full-time in the
NASCAR Busch Series, has also played professional baseball, sort of.
Last August, Sauter signed a minor league contract, practiced and
took an at-bat in a Gary (Ind.) Southshore Railcats game against the
Kansas City T-Bones. Sauter was able to make contact and hit a foul
ball down the first base line, but went down swinging in what may be
his only professional at-bat.
Sauter’s delivery Wednesday of the ceremonial pitch is another
opportunity with this new partnership between the Milwaukee Mile and
Sauter’s longtime sponsor Lester Buildings. The two have been
landmarks in the Midwest for many years. Lester built its first
“pole barn?? in 1947, while The Mile is the oldest continuously
operating motor speedway in the world, dating back to 1903. Terms of
the three-year agreement between the two entities were not disclosed.
Sauter is thrilled to have the opportunity to throw out the first
pitch; “I really enjoyed my time with the Railcats last year.
Growing up we always followed the Brewers when weren’t at a race, my
boys are all Brewers fans. I look forward to representing the
Milwaukee Mile, Lester Buildings, McGill Motorsports and the entire
NASCAR community. I’m thrilled I am able to do this.??
Tim Sauter will make his 100th NASCAR Busch Series start at The
Milwaukee Mile this Saturday night, June 24th, driving the Lester
Buildings #36 Chevy for McGill Motorsports. Among his competition
will be two of his brothers, Jay and Johnny, who will also
participate in the race. The Milwaukee Mile is also assisting Lester
Buildings in promoting a Sauter brothers autograph session, to take
place this Saturday at The Milwaukee Mile within the Lester Buildings
display on the fan midway. Autographs will be free during this 1:30
p.m. to 2:30 p.m. session, with “Team Sauter?? t-shirts available
for purchase only at this event, with 100-percent of the proceeds
benefiting The Queen of the Holy Rosary School in the driver’s
hometown of Necedah, WI.
