*Anderson disappointed at early loss*

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 18, 2006) -- It was not the type of day that
Greg Anderson envisioned as he entered eliminations during today's 37th
annual NHRA K&N Filters SuperNationals. In the opening round Anderson's
KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pro Stock Pontiac
GTO was turned back in a close finish by the Pontiac GTO of Warren
Johnson.

It was decided at the starting lights, as Johnson got away first at the
green gaining a .013 second advantage over Anderson. At the finish line
of the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park quarter-mile, it was Johnson
crossing just under five ten thousandths of a second before Anderson.
Anderson ran an elapsed time of 6.718 seconds, while the winning Johnson
has a slower 6.727-second pass.

"The good thing about it is that we get to race next week," said
Anderson, following the disappointing loss. "Luckily we have a race
next weekend and we can rectify both ends of where we need to improve -
driver and car and make them both faster. Maybe win a race and give
Summit Racing, Pontiac and Ken Black something they can be proud of.

"We're adjusting okay to the hot weather. We thought the track was going
to be worse than it was in the first round and we got too safe and
slipped the clutch too much. The track is really holding up well
considering how hot it is. We just didn't get the job done.

"I was a tick late off the light; the car was a tick off and in NHRA
POWERade Pro Stock right now that usually results in a loss. I didn't
have a lot of luck going for me but I should know that you have to
create your own luck. I'm not doing that right now and I have to find a
way to do that if we want to win that fourth championship.

During the short time off this week, Anderson knows he cannot rest.

"There are definitely some things we need to work on. We're lacking a
little bit of consistency, without a doubt, and the car's not making any
spectacular runs, and it's not making two runs in a row, to be honest
with you," added Anderson.

"At the same time, the bottom line, I'm not getting it done on the
starting line. I don't know how many races in a row I've gotten beat
running quicker than the guy in the other lane - that can't happen. I
can't point the blame at anybody. I haven't been driving as good as I
need to drive, and the car hasn't been bailing me out like it has in the
past. I'm the first screw up, but we have to fix them both if we want to
win again.

"That's why they call it drag racing because sometimes, it's a real drag."

Although he was turned back early, Anderson continues to lead the
standings for the 2006 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock championship entering the
next event.

The KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pro Stock
Pontiac GTO of Anderson now moves to Gateway International Raceway, the
final race of three back-to-back-to-back race weekends, for the 10th
annual NHRA O'Reilly Midwest Nationals, June 23-25. This race marks the
generally accepted midpoint to the 23-race 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag
Racing Series schedule.

ESPN2 will air same-day television coverage of eliminations for the 37th
annual NHRA K&N Filters SuperNationals from 4-7 p.m. today (Sunday, June
18). The elimination show repeats early Tuesday morning (June 20) from
2-4 a.m. *Television times are Eastern Time (ET) and subject to change
at anytime. Check local listings.*
