ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 17, 2006) -- Greg Anderson flirted with the top
spot but settled for the No. 2 position on the final qualifying ladder
for the 37th annual K&N Filters Supernationals at Old Bridge Township
Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.

From the No. 1 elapsed time of Allen Johnson, a 6.645-second track
record run, to the bump spot, a 6.686 second pass, held by Mark Pawuk,
Anderson joins the quickest field in NHRA history. Also, Jim Yates, in
a Pontiac GTO, set a track record speed of 208.17 mph during qualifying.

Anderson, driver of the KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing
Equipment-backed Pro Stock Pontiac GTO, clicked off a best pass of his
four qualifying runs by running a 6.650 second pass in Saturday's
morning session.

Entering eliminations tomorrow, Anderson continues to lead the standings
for the 2006 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock championship. In the opening round
and for the second consecutive race, he is matched against Warren
Johnson, who qualified No. 15 this race with a run of 6.680 seconds.
Anderson worked for WJ for 12 years as a crew member, tuner and crew
chief during four of Johnson's six NHRA Pro Stock championships, before
becoming a three-time Pro Stock champion himself.

Anderson begins his quest for the K&N Filters Supernationals Pro Stock
title on Sunday, June 18, with eliminations for all classes beginning at
11 a.m. *All times are local Englishtown, N.J. time (ET) and subject to
