BAZEMORE EARNS NO. 9 IN ENGLISHTOWN QUALIFYING

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 17, 2006) - Whit Bazemore recorded a solid No.
9-qualifying 4.835-second pass at 324.59 mph in today's third Funny Car
qualifying session in hot and humid early afternoon conditions at Old Bridge
Township Raceway, site of this weekend's K&N Filters SuperNationals. It was
the quickest pass of that round.

The other laps for the driver of the Matco Tools Iron Eagle Dodge Charger
R/T included a 5.101/244.52, a strong 4.878/315.78 Friday night, and a
5.626/177.63 in the final session, under an even hotter afternoon sun.

"Today was good," said the 2003 Englishtown Funny Car champion. "The earlier
session was good. We had low ET of that round and this afternoon we were
trying to run a lot better and the track just wasn't there. We feel like we
have a good set-up for race day, and that's the most important thing."

Bazemore faces his old nemesis and No. 8 qualifier, 13-time Funny Car
champion John Force, in first round of eliminations on Sunday.
